Milnar, Wohlberg Host Case Type V Course

Dental clinician, lecturer, and AACD Accredited Member Dr. Frank J. Milnar and master ceramist and AACD Accredited Member Jenny Wohlberg, from Valley Dental Arts, together recently instructed a Case Type V course at the Oral Design Center in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Offered twice a year, this course equips students for Case Type V, a difficult prerequisite in the Accreditation process of the AACD. The goal of all the attendees is to sharpen artistic composite skills and evolve their techniques.

Tokuyama Dental America Inc., a manufacturer of innovative dental materials, supplied their Estelite Omega® composite for use within the course.

Emulating nature, the composite creates restorations that mimic the anatomical creation of natural teeth, with the ability to adjust the hue, chroma, and value. Estelite Omega was developed in collaboration with Dr. Newton Fahl, Jr., world- renowned master in esthetic dentistry.

For an optimal learning environment, the course was limited to 10 attendees who came from great distances for this one-of-a kind learning experience. All accommodations are close to the facility and Minneapolis is the airport of choice. The next session is coming for Case Type V in early 2013.

Here’s what attendees had to say:

As a dental auxiliary, this course was a memorable lifetime opportunity to experience such quality education. The techniques and tools that Dr. Milnar and Jenny taught us are so valuable in their application to produce beautiful, natural and believable anterior restorations. The learning environment was warm, friendly and organized with both group activities and one-on-one hands-on instruction….and it was fun! The perspectives of Dr. Milnar’s expertise in clinical dentistry and Jenny’s artistry in ceramics was the perfect combination to understand the morphology and beauty of the anterior dentition. I walk away being enthusiastic about tackling the anterior zone reassured by the in depth knowledge gained during this three day event. I loved it!”

“The Accreditation process offered through the AACD challenges and pushes me to improve upon my dental esthetic skills. Case Type V by far will be the most difficult case for me to pass. To prepare for this challenging task, I wanted to learn from the best. Dr. Frank Milnar and Jenny Wohlberg without a doubt have been the best hands-on instructors I have learned from over my 20 year career. With the skill I have learned from this course I am ready to practice Case Type V and feel more confident to tackle the most difficult Accreditation case. Many thanks to Dr. Frank Milnar and Jenny Wohlberg, my new mentors on this incredible journey.”
